  •  Why should I buy from Steamboat Music
  1. Name Brands.Some places will try to sell you cheap quality products at cheap prices. We only sell high quality name goods, that you can trust and get the most out of at cheap prices. That is what sets us apart, you always get good value for money.
  2. Professional Set Ups.All of the instruments at Steamboat, are set up by our in house technicians, some websites say their instruments are set up, however judging by the amount of set ups our technicians provide to customers from other online stores, for alot of them this is not the case.
  3. We actually exist.We have a store you can walk into and try before you buy. If you buy from stores outside of Ireland, you may aswell throw away your warranty, again some sites promise great warranties but talk to people before you buy and you will come across some of the warranty horror stories that exist. From having to pay €80 to send it back, being without it for ages, one guy was up to 8 weeks waiting for his instrument to be fixed when he sent it back to a particular german retailer. Like I said there is alot to be said for being able to try something before you buy.
  4. Personal advice. Alll the staff at Steamboat are made up of music teachers, technicians and musicians. We aren't interested in selling you something that doesn't suit your needs. We carefully listen to what you need and respond using our experience to give you the best option available for you.
  5. Prices. We are extremly competitive on a vast majority of our products and with delivery nationwide at only €4 for any sized order we are alot cheaper than some other online stores where you have to spend over €200 to get free delivery.

  • What if I want something not on the website?

  • How long will my order take to be delivered?

Delivery takes between 1 to 5 working days, if we have the items in stock we will dispatch them immediately, so you should recieve them after the next working day. If an item is not in stock you will be notified about the expected wait, however we hope to avoid this by only selling things that we have good stock of. If you are in a hurry for the products, ring the store, before you place the order to ensure their is plenty of stock.

 

  • How safe is my online order?

All of our transactions on the website go through paypal, which means:

  1. We don't ever deal with your credit card details.
  1. Paypal is one of the largest transaction companys in the world and spend millions each year protecting your details. Simply put, Paypal is one of the safest operators on the web.

  • Is there parking at Steamboat Music's premises?

 

Yes, a limited number of Pay and Display parking spaces are available outside the shop. Alternatively, you may park in the multi-storey car park situated just around the corner. We pay for Customer Parking, so feel free to come in and ask us for some coins to put in the ticket machine. It costs €2 an hour, however you can put in 30 cent and get 15 minutes of parking.

 

  • Delivery Charges

  1. Ireland €4
  2. UK delivery €9
  3. Five Line Music products are delivered free within Ireland.
  4. Five Line Music products are delivered outside Ireland €1 per parcel.
  5. Sheet Music and Music books free delivery within Ireland.
  6. Sheet Music and Music books - Delivery outside Ireland €1 per parcel.

  • Tax Rates
  1. Ireland 21%
  2. UK 15%
  3. Outside Ireland & the UK no tax charged. Customers are responsible for paying the sales tax in their own country.

  • Please note, that although we try to locate the most accurate images of products, sometimes it is difficult on cheaper items, e.g. some models of drumsticks.And it is there for the responsibility of the customer to double check that what they are buying is what they think it is and not to rely on images shown on the site. However we fully guarentee that any item over €19 will have a 100% accurate image.


  • Faulty/Damaged Goods

 

If you receive a damaged or defective item from us, you are entitled to:

~ A new replacement,

~ A full refund including delivery charges,

~ Or an alternative item of the same value.

Please include your order number, a contact number and a brief description of what is wrong with the product.

 

  • Cancellation/Returns Policy 
You can return new, unopened items from a cancelled order within 8 days after they have been
delivered to you. Items should be returned in their original packaging, in the condition they were recieved in. You will then be refunded, however the cost of postage to you will be deducted from your refund.To book in a return please send us an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it include your order number and contact details . Await a returns number from us and then please send the item to : Returns Department, Steamboat Music, Unit 1, Steamboat Quay, Limerick.

The item must in mint condition and have no signs of use, if we deem it to have been used or opened and it is impossible for us to sell the product again as "new", we are entitled to take a restocking fee from the money to be refunded to you. Generally 25 percent of the retail price of the item.

If the item is in such a depreciated state, nowhere near its new condition, it is at the customers risk sending the item back as it may not be refunded.

("new" - The exact condition that the item was sent out to the customer in.)

 

*This excludes products such as strings, reeds, harmonicas, drum heads, tin whistles, recorders, wind instruments, drumsticks, cleaners, polishes UNLESS they are defective OR unopened AND unused.

 

  • Warranties

All Non perishable goods are covered by a one year manufacturers warranty.

Excluded from warranty are:

  1. Naturally occuring signs of wear. eg fret wear on stringed instruments, jack inputs on electro acoustic instruments.
  2. Product defects caused by using accessories, supplementary or replacement parts which are not original components of the article.
  3. Products that have been altered as a whole.
  4. Product defects caused by insufficient attention to the technical instructions for use, inappropriate use of the product, inadequate maintenance or insufficient care.
  5. The cost of posting an item availing of the warranty back to Steamboat Music has to be covered by the customer.
